After obtaining the teaching diploma at the “Driestar” in Gouda, Ellie went to Canada to work as, among other things, an au pair. Back in The Netherlands taught at a primary, secondary and a vocational training college. In evening courses she did MO-A English at Utrecht university, MO-B English in Gouda and Master’s at Nijmegen university. Taught  one year at Mount Cheam Christian School, Canada  after certification. Work now at the Hoornbeeck College, economics department, as a teacher of English and coach of trainees. Taught English at Herman’s Girl’s Home during sabbatical leave in 2004. Visited Herman’s girls again in February 2005 after tsunami.
For Ceylon Christian Care Ellie has been several time to Sri Lanka to help organizing the education activities in the projects.

Geriska Poortman

Geriska Poortman started her medical science study in Groningen, the Netherlands. After this she specialized on child health care at the Wilhelmina child hospital in Utrecht. Today she works as a pediatrician at the St Jansdal hospital in Harderwijk. In 2004/2005 she followed a course tropical pediatrics at the AMC in Amsterdam. During this study she came into contact with NFICH.  For NFICH she will spent the coming years every year 5 to 6 weeks on Sri Lanka to set up and coordinate help to children with chronicle diseases and handicaps. Research learned that today there are in Sri Lanka only 25 pediatricians and that there is a large need for people with this knowledge.

Hilda works as a care taker at RST. This organization provides all kinds of care to families and older people.
Hilda and her friend Annie van Werven have been several times on Sri Lanka and add significant contribution to the organization of help to the disabled people in the areas of the projects of Ceylon Christian Care.

Paul works as a teacher at the Joh. Calvijn primary school in Leerdam in the Netherlands. Two of his children were adopted from Sri Lanka shortly after they were born.

In 2005 Paul was the initiator of a Sri Lanka week on the Joh. Calvijn school. The result was a donation of 5.000 Euro for Ceylon Christian Care. This money was used for the distribution of the children's Bible of H. van Dam on Sri Lanka.

Annie works as a team lead at GVT Schoonsterheim. This organization cares for mental and physical disables people from different ages.
